Drivers Age

27 to 99 Years

Customers who fall outside the age limitations will not be able to rent a car unless there is a young or senior driver fee specified in this section. Please note that, if applicable, this fee will be included in the rental price and will be payable on arrival at the rental desk in the local currency.

Travel Restrictions

Renters must seek permission from the local rental agency before any cross border travel or before the main drivers pick up.

Please check with the local rental desk, Europcar, directly regarding any requirements and restrictions for cross border travel. It is the renter’s responsibility to check with the supplier directly regarding any information, restrictions or regulations regarding any cross border travel.

You may drive a Commercial Vehicle in Metropolitan France only excluding Corsica and French overseas departments and territories.

Renters may drive the vehicle in the following countries:Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, France (Corsica included and French overseas departments and territories excluded), Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Norway, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain (apart from islands and the Ceuta and Melilla enclaves), Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK (“the Territory”). For Greece, Ireland and the United Kingdom, subject to prior authorization

For Greece, Ireland and the United Kingdom, subject to prior authorization. Returning of the Vehicle in the UK - Ireland, Ireland and in Corsica is not authorized.

Please note the rental vehicle must not be transported on board any type of boat, ship, train, truck or plane, without Europcar’s prior written consent obtained in response to a request made by the Customer in Europcar’s station agency. This authorization may be issued within 48 hours (except on weekends and public holidays) of receipt by Europcar of Your request.

In the case of electric vehicles, it will be Your responsibility to check that recharging devices are available and compatible in the countries in which You plan to travel.

Drivers will be subject to cross border fees and must purchase additional mandatory insurance at the rental desk. Please contact the local rental desk for further information.

All rentals include the 24 hours a day Assistance which covers all over the country

Abroad (rented in France and travel abroad) : covered but a fix package fee will be charged in case of towing : 300€

The driver has the possibility to subscribe to an insurance called the EMS ( 10€/day - Max 30 days) to avoid the towing package in case of a breakdown.

Please note additional cross border fees and charges are applicable in addition. All cross border charges are payable to the local rental desk. Please contact the local rental desk for further information.

Travel in Italy is now limited for any vehicle not registered in Italy and driven by an Italian resident. If you meet these criteria and You do not comply with this restriction, You will be invoiced for the amount associated with confiscation of vehicle by the Italian authorities

You and/or the Driver must never drive the Vehicle outside the Territory. If You and/or the Driver intend to drive the Vehicle outside the Territory, You and/or the Driver must obtain prior written authorization from Europcar in response to a request made by the Customer to the Europcar Agency. This Authorization may be given within 48 hours of Your request (excluding weekends and public holidays). Please note that prior authorization is also required to drive in Greece, Ireland and United Kingdom. Please note that prior authorization shall not be granted by Europcar to drive the Vehicle in Countries not covered by insurance, namely, Albania, Montenegro, Russia and Ukraine, or in Countries outside of Europe (including Turkey, Tunisia, Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel). Please be aware that You must comply with road traffic regulations and toll payment obligations applicable in the Country where You drive the Vehicle

If You intend to drive the Vehicle outside of France, You must inform the Europcar agent and ensure together, during check-out, that the Vehicle has the proper equipment in accordance with the local traffic rules of the country that You and/or the Driver will drive in or cross.

Please check with the rental provider in advance that the vehicle has the proper equipment in accordance with local traffic rules of the country you intend to travel to (eg. Winter tyres).

Please note: Geneva Border checks

Your passage from France side of Geneva airport to the to Switzerland side can only be made if you hold a flight ticket to justify your passage in the Swiss zone. All other customers must pass through the customs of Ferney Voltaire.
